See RAMMSTEIN’s TILL LINDEMANN hail DAVID LYNCH in new video “Und die Engel singen”

Like a lot of us, lately, Till Lindemann seems to have been binge-watching David Lynch movies since the iconic filmmaker passed away earlier this year. Perhaps because of that, the Rammstein vocalist has infused the video for his latest solo single, “Und die Engel singen,” with a bunch of tributary vignettes. And yes, it’s all kinds of fucked-up.

The new song’s title translates to “And the Angels Sing,” and throughout, Lindemann affixes moaned and moody German lyricism above an inky, industrial-rock arrangement.

Visually, the Anna Grey-directed clip at times casts Lindemann as a hyper-sexualized, Elephant Man-styled subway rider, and other times as a lewd, eyes-bulging, gas-inhaling Frank Booth-type – though we’re going to go ahead and say that this time around, the remodeled Blue Velvet villain is 100 per cent drinking Heineken.

The rest of the video features scenes of voyeurism and partner violence — both recurring themes in Lynch's oeuvre — and can get pretty intense, so consider this a trigger warning.

“Und die Engel singen” is out now on streamers, while the track will also be released on August 8th as a 7” picture-disc, as well as on limited minimax picture CD, a regular vinyl 7” and maxi CD. You can pre-order all versions here.

Lindemann also has a handful of European solo appearances coming up this summer. You’ll find his show schedule here.
