See GHOST's PAPA V PERPETUA cover QUEEN's "Bohemian Rhapsody" with OPETH guitarist

Leave it to Ghost to conjure the dead and honor the living in the most theatrical way possible. Earlier today (May 27th), inside the gilded halls of Stockholm’s Grand Hôtel, Papa V Perpetua and an unholy crew of collaborators paid spine-tingling tribute to rock royalty Queen with a spellbinding rendition of the legendary “Bohemian Rhapsody.”

Papa V, joined by Opeth guitarist Fredrik Åkesson and the Eric Ericsons Chamber Choir, played Queen’s 1975 diamond-certified anthem as a spectral rock opera. With the surviving members of Queen, plus current singer Adam Lambert, watching from the audience, the one-night supergroup delivered a performance that felt both reverent and rebellious.

Part of the awards ceremony for the 2025 Polar Music Prize, where Queen were honored as this year’s laureates, the performance proved what fans already knew: Ghost aren’t just students of the old gods, they’re the new priests.

Next up for Papa V and his merry band of Nameless Ghouls and Ghoulettes, Ghost will kick off the North America leg of their 2025 Skeletour Friday Jul 11th at Atlanta, Georgia's State Farm Arena.
