A Cinematic Metal Odyssey Into the Abyss of Modern Decay
Inherently Lost, the genre-defying metal quintet known for their apocalyptic soundscapes and visceral lyrical depth, return with a vengeance. Their latest single "Art of Corruption" — the band’s most ambitious and aggressive release to date — dropped May 2nd, 2025, alongside their first official music video, teasing the arrival of their forthcoming full-length album of the same name, to be released later this year via Entwined Recordings.
Blending a volatile mix of industrial, symphonic, progressive, metalcore, black metal, nu-metal, and doom, Inherently Lost channels chaos into clarity. Their music is a journey through the wreckage of society and the battlefields of the mind — unapologetically heavy and emotionally raw.
"Art of Corruption" — A Sonic Manifesto
The new single "Art of Corruption" paints a grim portrait of societal decay and personal disillusionment. With haunting dual vocals from Mark Moats and Noreen Javersak, the band weaves together cinematic synths, brutal riffs by Joe Matijasic, thunderous rhythms from Andrew Salzano and Mikey Woolard, and a relentless pace that mirrors the modern world’s collapse under its own corruption.
The accompanying music video — an atmospheric visual descent into dystopia — marks a milestone for the band. Equal parts film and fury, it offers a visceral lens into the themes that have defined Inherently Lost since their inception.
Building a Legacy of Darkness and Depth
Since their eerie debut EP Our Last Midnight in March 2020 — a prophetic release aligned with the onset of the global pandemic — Inherently Lost has never shied away from uncomfortable truths. The EP’s title track eerily foreshadowed a world overrun by a man-made plague, a narrative that set the tone for their evolving discography.
Subsequent releases, including "Unraveling Sanity" (Feb 2023), a crushing cover of Mötley Crüe’s "Red Hot" (Nov 2023), "Intoxication of Pain" (Aug 2024), and "Through My Eyes" (Nov 2024), each peeled back another layer of the human condition and the failing systems around us.
